Earlier this year, Stockholm-based Husqvarna announced the Automower, an autonomous, solar powered lawnmower. Now Husqvarna has announced that the Solar powered Automowers will be available in the United States. Previous versions of the Automower were already available but relied on conventional power sources. The robot mower is supposed to work even in the rain and includes anti-theft protection that sounds an alarm and disables the mower if someone tries to steal it. The mower mulches, so there's no bagging of grass. Husqvarna also claims the mower is pet safe and so quiet, it won't disturb the neighbors. We've seen many previous attempts at robot mowers. Let's hope this one fares better.
