iRobot wants to hack our favorite Roomba and turn him into a dishwasher or just anything. iRobot believes that the so-called ‘inherently interactive’ Roomba, Scooba and Packbots can be made more interactive, but Roomba promises more potential.
According to the Roomba SCI serial protocol, iRobot plans to hack Roomba to the core by controlling its motors, LEDs, sensors and speakers. The existing behavior of the vacuum cleaning robot can be further modified with a little bit of tinkering and ultimately making him do tasks that are more refined, as they did at Make magazine.
So, what you are thinking, fit your Roomba with a web cam and unleash your James Bond skills or contact RoombaDevTools for some more nasty tricks.
Check out Roomba wrestling here.
