The name ‘I’ robot seems an inspiration from the movie (‘I’ robot) but certainly it is going to work a bit less then those despotics. This class of I robot developed by East Japan Railway Company (JR East) will serve the JR train stations in the future. It is programmed to serve the duties such as providing assistance at customer service windows, patrolling around stations at night, and assisting station workers with other duties as needed.
JR East in collaboration with Japanese robot manufacturer created 4 ft tall and 50 kilograms weights ‘I’ (information). It is capable of reading Suica cards fixed at its shoulder and ring telephones, moreover, it can show customers to reception areas and face and voice recognition proficiency allow it to perform a simple conversations.
