Probably, it’s the right time to lay the foundation of Zion, the last free human city as depicted in the Matrix, with robots finally made to mimic human touch. The new robotic sensors invented by researchers at the University of Nebraska replicate the human sense of touch.
The sensor devised with the help of nanotechnology senses the force applied on a specialized electroluminescent film via a camera and converts it into data, which is further read by a robotic hand. The sensor will lead to creation of machines that can figure out physical texture of objects with impeccable accuracy just by touching them. Researchers are planning to apply the invention in creating touch sensitive machines that can differentiate between cancerous and non-cancerous tissues and make inroads in other medical practices.
