If we can create dinosaurs of Jurassic Park, bacteria size tiny bots too are possible. Realizing its dream of power of a small world, MEMSCAP has successfully created an army of world’s tiniest robots under its MUMPs program. The miniature robots are so small that 200 of them could fit on the tip of your finger. The crawling robots can reach a maximum speed of 200 microns or 20,000 steps per second and will of course take care of little things like fixing complex computer circuitry.
The little machine measures 250 by 60 microns and can move in any direction via a remote control. Researchers at Dartmouth College able to squeeze in a flexible silicon slice, two bits of memory, and two actuators to convert electrical energy into mechanical energy.
